A Place to Belong
SFL Together is where connection continues beyond grief support. It brings widows and widowers together through friendship, fellowship, service, outings, travel, and shared experiences.
You do not have to wait until grief is “finished” to begin living, connecting, and belonging again.
Ways to Connect Through SFL Together
There are many ways to find connection, purpose, friendship, and support. Explore what feels right for you.
Events & Fellowship
SFL Together creates opportunities for widows and widowers to gather, laugh, and enjoy life again with people who understand. Through luncheons, socials, celebrations, seasonal gatherings, and shared experiences, members are reminded that life after loss can still include friendship, joy, and meaningful connection. These events offer a relaxed and welcoming place to reconnect with others and begin making new memories.
Everyday Connection
Sometimes the most meaningful support comes through simple, everyday moments. Everyday Connection encourages widows and widowers to build friendships through coffee, lunch, phone calls, check-ins, and time together. These smaller moments of connection help people feel seen, valued, and remembered. They also remind each person that even after loss, there is still a place to belong.
Volunteer & Service Opportunities
Healing often grows as we begin to care for others again. SFL Together offers meaningful ways for widows and widowers to serve through practical help, encouragement projects, hospitality, and compassionate outreach. These opportunities allow members to use their gifts, stay engaged, and rediscover a sense of purpose. Serving others not only blesses those receiving care — it also strengthens the hearts of those giving it.
Blessed Bites
Blessed Bites is a practical care ministry that provides meals and simple acts of kindness to those who need encouragement and support. Whether someone is going through a difficult season, recovering from illness, or simply needs a reminder that they are not forgotten, this ministry brings comfort in a tangible way. A delivered meal can say what words sometimes cannot: you are loved, remembered, and cared for.
Petals of Grace is a ministry of encouragement that delivers fresh flowers and caring connection to shut-ins and others who need to be remembered. Each arrangement is more than a gift — it is a gentle reminder that someone sees them, values them, and has not forgotten them. This ministry reflects the heart of SFL Together by sharing beauty, kindness, and hope in a personal and meaningful way.
Gifts of Hope Bags are prepared to bless widows, widowers, new visitors, and others who need encouragement. Each bag is filled with thoughtful items meant to bring comfort, hope, and a reminder that their story matters. These gifts may seem simple, but they communicate something powerful: you are not alone, and there is a community ready to care for you.
Travel & Shared Experiences
Travel and shared outings give widows and widowers opportunities to enjoy life again with others who understand the journey. Whether it is a day trip, group outing, special excursion, or shared travel experience, these moments help build confidence, friendship, and joyful memories. No one should have to do everything alone, and SFL Together helps make meaningful shared experiences possible again.
You are not expected to do life alone after loss. SFL Together helps make connection possible again.
