About Us

Surviving From Loss is a Christ-centered ministry founded by Charles Foster, born from his personal journey through the deep sorrow of losing his beloved spouse. What began as one man’s walk through grief has grown into a compassionate community of hope and healing for widows and widowers navigating life after loss.

We understand that the death of a spouse is one of life’s most devastating experiences. The emotional weight, the silence, and the overwhelming sense of disorientation can feel unbearable. That is why Surviving From Loss exists—to walk alongside the widowed with empathy, understanding, and practical support. While no one can replace the void left by a spouse, we strive to stand in that gap, offering hope, help, and encouragement for the journey ahead.

In today’s world, widows and widowers face unique and often overlooked challenges. Though resources may be more available than in the past, the emotional, spiritual, and practical burdens of loss remain overwhelming. Many are unprepared for the loneliness, isolation, and identity shift that follow such a profound loss. While the world keeps moving, time often feels as though it stands still for those who grieve.

At Surviving From Loss, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus—offering comfort, connection, and tangible help. Whether through assistance with household needs, spiritual encouragement, or simply a compassionate listener, we remind every widow and widower that they are not alone and they are not forgotten.

We serve both widows and widowers, recognizing that each journey through grief is unique and deserves individualized care. Through small acts of kindness, meaningful relationships, and faith-based encouragement, we minister to the whole person—heart, soul, and body.

We also believe deeply in the healing power of service. By creating opportunities for the widowed to support and serve others, we help them rediscover purpose, rebuild identity, and move forward with renewed hope. In serving others, healing begins; in giving, they learn to receive again.

Surviving From Loss is more than a support group—it is a family, a refuge, and a beacon of light in the darkness of grief. We are here to help you survive your loss and begin to thrive again, one step at a time.

You are not alone. We are here for the journey, for the healing, and for the hope that lies ahead.
