About Us
Surviving From Loss is a Christ-centered ministry founded by Charles Foster, born out of his journey through the deep sorrow of losing his beloved spouse. What began as one man’s walk through grief has become a compassionate community of hope and healing for widows and widowers navigating life after loss.
We understand that the death of a spouse is one of life’s most devastating experiences. The emotional weight, silence, and disorientation can all feel unbearable. That’s why Surviving From Loss exists: to walk alongside the widowed with empathy, understanding, and practical support. Though no one can honestly fill the void left by a spouse, we aim to stand in that gap, offering help and hope for the journey ahead.
In today’s world, widows and widowers face unique and often overlooked challenges. While resources may be more available than in the past, the emotional, spiritual, and practical burdens remain overwhelming. Many are unprepared for the loneliness, isolation, and identity shift that come with such loss. The world continues to move, but time often stands still for those grieving.
At Surviving From Loss, we strive to be Jesus’ hands and feet, offering not only comfort and connection but also tangible help. Whether it’s assistance with household needs, spiritual guidance, or a kind ear to listen, we remind each person that they are not alone and are not forgotten.
We serve widows and widowers, understanding that each journey is unique and deserves care. Through small acts of kindness, meaningful connections, and spiritual encouragement, we minister to the whole person—heart, soul, and body.
Our ministry also believes in the healing power of service. By creating opportunities for the widowed to support others, we help them rediscover purpose, rebuild identity, and move forward with hope. In serving, they find healing; in giving, they begin to receive again.
Surviving From Loss is more than a support group—it is a family, a safe place, and a beacon of light in the darkness of grief. We are here to help you survive your loss and begin to thrive again, one step at a time.
You are not alone. We are here for the journey, for the healing, and for the hope that lies ahead.

MISSION STATEMENT
Surviving From Loss provides connection, community, and resources for the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of the widowed. Through acts of service, we help restore dignity, renew purpose, and end isolation where a spouse once served. Guided by the Gospel, we strive to ensure no one journeys through loss alone.
